Functions answer who owns the outcome; they can span domains and programmes. The definitive page groups Hardware & Production with nested Engineering and Production capacities to keep physical design authority and manufacturing execution in one accountable umbrella while still naming the two concerns separately — a compromise between org-chart trees and readable handbook sections.

Older architecture drafts sometimes show Engineering and Production as separate top-level tree nodes; the handbook list is the published shape. When reconciling legacy diagrams, update diagrams toward this page rather than silently diverging prose.
